The weekend is here and we are free until Monday at 4pm - long weekend. A weekend of diving, church, beer and meat. Normally on a long weekend people generally take advantage of the extra day to go further afield, but as the cyclone forced us to stay in Suva last week we just want a relaxing weekend, bit of snorkelling and a lie in instead of up at 6am every morning .

Today we went to neighbouring island Motoriki to go to church. Motoriki is the place where most of the staff at Lelauvia are from.We got the boat from Leleuvia early because low tide was approaching and the village is a bit inaccessible at low tide. we were welcomed by the head man and watched some rugby 7's before church started. ( The HSBC rugby sevens are currently being played in Hamilton NZ)

As well as shore diving we also dive from boats. These are quite small boats, without dive facilities such as tank storage and seats!. You may also be the boat marshall which is a nice change. You help everyone kit up and lift the tanks into and out of the boat. Once everyone is in, you chill with the boat captain and have a chat and watch the bubbles.
The fish is a Honeycomb Grouper.

Another weekend has arrived, marred somewhat by England's defeat to France in the six nations rugby, knew I shouldn't have left the UK whilst it was on. Dived with Jim the dive master at Leleuvia. Saw a huge humphead wrasse and some turtles. The visibility has improved and the coral was truly beautiful, as if they had been planted for the Chelsea garden show.

Had a fish point out dive today. saw some great fish. On the descent a white tip shark appeared, luckily my go pro was running so I a managed to get some video.
